1. What are the technical requirements needed for the online application?

Use high speed internet as some images will be downloaded during the timed sections of the survey. It is recommended that your web browser is up-to-date and Javascript is enabled. The web browsers officially supported are IE 7, 8, 9 or higher, Firefox and Google Chrome. If you have trouble in your application using your favourite browser we recommend using one of the supported web browsers for your application.

2. Are there any information/publication that can assist me in doing well or to practice?

The application does not require any previous practice. Enough information will be provided on how to complete each module during the online assessment.

3. How long is the Teacher Capability Assessment Tool?

The online assessment consists of five modules, each with a number of sections. The modules must be completed in sequence and each module may include a different number of open response or multiple choice items. You may be asked to upload some documents in the beginning of the application. The total estimated time commitment is 70 - 90 minutes.

4. How can I track my progress through the Teacher Capability Assessment Tool assessment?

Your progress through the online assessment will be indicated by the progress bar at the top of the page

5. Can I save my progress and continue later on?

You can save and exit the assessment at various stages. You may use the login and password information that you created during registration to stop and continue at a later time, once each section has been completed.

6. Is there a time limit?

Some modules incorporate a time limit. A timer at the top of the page indicates sections with time limits. Ensure you allocate sufficient time to complete these modules as you cannot review/re-do a section once it times out, neither once you submit your response. Your answers will be submitted automatically once you run out of time.

7. What happens when the timer runs out for a section or answer that is timed?

The responses that you have entered will be saved and you will move to the next section or question. Please note you may only undertake each section once and once you have completed and submitted a section you cannot review or change your response.

8. Will I be able to go back and revise my answers?

No, you will not be able to change your response once you have submitted your answers for a section.

If you are unable to complete Teacher Capability Assessment Tool and would like to discuss special consideration, please contact Sydney Catholic Schools.

13. How will my data be used?

Your information will be used to determine if you are a potential recipient for the Sydney Catholic Schools Internship Program. You will also have the opportunity, during the registration process, to participate and contribute (anonymously) to a larger research project examining the characteristics of effective teachers.

14. Can I see my results?

No, you will not have access to your results.

15. When will I be contacted about interview dates/times?

If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted by the Teacher Capability Assessment Tool (TCAT) team in September 2017, during business hours, regarding interview date and time.
If the TCAT team cannot contact you during this time using the contact details you have provided, you may forfeit the opportunity of an interview.
You must attend an interview to be eligible for the Sydney Catholic Schools Internship Program.

16. When will the interviews be held?

Interviews will be held in September 2017.
If you cannot attend interviews during these times you will not be eligible for the Sydney Catholic Schools Internship Program.

17. Where will the interviews take place?

Interviews will be held at Sydney Catholic Schools, Leichhardt, NSW.
If you cannot attend interviews at this location, you will not be eligible for the Sydney Catholic Schools Internship Program.

18. When will I be notified of the outcome?

It is expected that offers will be made in November 2017.
Offers will be made in writing at the completion of the selection process. The offer will be for a specified period and cannot be deferred.
